Why am I here?
I have a solo exhibition at the Kirkcarrion Gallery in the delightful north Pennines town of Middleton in Teesdale opening on September 4th. It’s my prize from the @weardalepleinairfestival back in May courtesy of judges @mjashcroft and @lyntonparmarhemsleyartist . I have plenty of work I could have put together for the show but I wanted to make sure there was also some work informed by the area so I’m here on my own for 6 days just painting around the area.
This is Kirkcarrion just outside Middleton, a Bronze Age burial mound on the ridge just above the town, with a distinctive circular copse of pine trees; it’s this that the gallery is named after.
This is the second of the day just as it looks like the weather is finally breaking. Now it’s back to my airBnB for more comfort food.
